The purpose of the congregation of Harvest Community Church is twofold: to worship God in Spirit and in Truth and to win our community and world to Jesus Christ.
Sunday School functions as both the evangelistic and ministry vehicle of the church. It is through our Sunday school program that we reach prospects and integrate new members into our fellowship. Our desire to meet the needs, minister to, invite prospects, and host fellowships within our congregation can best be accomplished through our small group Bible study called Sunday school. We feel that to effectively minister and evangelize our community it will be accomplished through this medium rather than through just the efforts of our pastor.
The curriculum used by the Sunday school is designed to integrate Bible truths into application for daily living and spiritual growth. This curriculum is also designed to meet each person at their place of spiritual maturity and spiritual knowledge and serves as a catalyst to encourage each person to involve themselves in more intense Bible study through discipleship training.
It is the desire of HCC’s leadership to afford each Sunday school class the best possible teacher as possible. Teachers will be encouraged to undergo training through teacher training curriculum, attend regular teachers’ meetings, and attend the weekly visitation initiative. We take seriously our obligation to teach the truth of God’s Word and equip our teachers to do so.
Sunday school classes are determined for our congregation by age or grade to assure a small group organizational approach. Sunday school classes are available for all ages.
Discipleship Training provides opportunities for Christians to grow in the practical applications of their faith. All members are encouraged to deepen their relationship with our Lord through the in-depth Bible studies offered through discipleship training.
