Harvest Community Church Purpose Statement
The purpose of the congregation of Harvest Community Church is twofold: to worship God in Spirit and in Truth and to win our community and world to Jesus Christ.
Basic Beliefs of Harvest Community Church
The official doctrinal statement of HCC is known as The Baptist Faith and Message. A full version of this document is available from the church office or online at www.sbc.net.
In short, Harvest Community Church is an unapologetically conservative Southern Baptist Church. HCC will welcome believers from different denominational backgrounds. While we welcome all baptized believers into our fellowship, it is important that new members understand where we are and where we will remain doctrinally.
- We believe the Bible to be inspired, infallible and inerrant.
- We believe that Jesus Christ is the one and only way of salvation
- We believe that all true believers are secure in Christ and cannot "lose" their salvation.
- We believe the sign gifts of the Spirit ceased with the completion of Scripture. Expressions as speaking in "tongues"
and new words of "prophecy" are unacceptable at Harvest Community Church.
- We believe that only immersion after salvation is, in fact, a Biblical baptism. While we practice parent and baby
dedication, we do not "baptize" infants. Such an expression is a contradiction of terms. Believers' baptism by immersion
is a prerequisite to church membership and the receiving of the Lord's Supper (communion).
